USF Women's Basketball: A Sunday Showdown with Navy

TAMPA, Fla. (December 20, 2025) - Get ready for an exciting afternoon as the University of South Florida women's basketball team takes on Navy at the Yuengling Center on Sunday, December 21. The Bulls (6-6) and Midshipmen (6-4) will tip off at 1 p.m. on ESPN+, marking a highly anticipated match-up.

This game is more than just a regular season contest; it's the annual Holiday Celebration, offering fans a special long-sleeve holiday shirt while supplies last. But the fun doesn't stop there! Half-time brings the beloved Teddy Bear Toss, where fans eagerly toss teddy bears onto the court, creating a unique and heartwarming tradition.

USF's Dominance at Home
USF has been a force to be reckoned with at home, boasting an impressive 55-5 record in non-conference games since the 2017-18 season. This stellar performance places them as the best team in the American Conference over that period and ranks 15th among all Division I schools with a minimum of 10 games played. The Bulls are on a mission to secure their sixth non-conference victory at the Yuengling Center, extending their streak of winning at least six home non-conference games for four consecutive seasons.

A Fresh Series Begins
This Sunday's game marks the first-ever meeting between South Florida and Navy, setting the stage for an intriguing series between these two teams.

Star Players in the Spotlight
Several standout players are making waves for USF. L'or Mputu has demonstrated remarkable consistency, recording at least four rebounds and one made field goal in 35 consecutive games, the 12th-longest active streak in Division I. The only USF players with longer streaks this century are Maria Jesperson and Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu. Mputu leads the team with an impressive 8.5 rebounds per game.

Stefanie Ingram is another key player, currently tied for 22nd in the NCAA with 66 assists, which is the highest in the American Conference. Her 5.5 assists per game rank her 29th in the nation and first in the conference. Ingram also averages 10.3 points per game and leads the team with 13 steals.

Edyn Battle and Katie Davidson are the top scorers, with Battle leading the team at 14.2 points per game and Davidson closely behind at 10.8 points per game.
